Funding 2028
Danish Problem Gambling Committee to Allocate Funding in 2028
Danish Problem Gambling Committee is entering a new phase with fewer donors than in its first three years, resulting in more limited funds for research grants. In light of this, the board has decided to launch its next call for applications in 2028.
This decision reflects the funding landscape set by the Ministry of Health and Ecclesiastical Affairs, which is allocating DKK 2 million to gambling addiction research in 2026, and DKK 2.5 million in both 2027 and 2029 - the latter two contingent on the implementation of Spilpakke 1 (a new Danish legislative package). By timing its own call for 2028, Danish Problem Gambling Committee will close the funding gap for that year, ensuring continuous research grants in the field for years to come.
Despite the reduced grant volume, Danish Problem Gambling Committee will maintain its full level of other activities going forward. In 2026 this includes the sponsoring of a four-talk session at the EASG conference in Copenhagen and a dedicated researcher symposium at The University of Copenhagen.
